10.10.2012-14.10.2012 Andrew Page is at the Teachwild Project in Phillip Island. It is run by Earthwatch, part of the CSIRO. I have been working with scientists. I am with five other teachers. We are learning about Penguins and Short-tailed Shearwaters (mutton birds). Last night we went to Cape Woolamai and saw hundreds of thousands of shearwaters flying in to roost (all at the same time). pretty spectacular. Today we had a talk and PPT from Roger who is the chief seal researcher on rescuing seals from fishing nets etc.
The pictures feature view from Cape Woolamai at sunset (note shearwaters flying close to the water) and Shearwaters that have landed.
